| After thirty-five years
in the entertainment business at the highest levels, Bill Wilson decided to develop a strategy allowing the millions of theatre
lovers in the world to stop being passive about productions, and
take an active role in one of civilization's most challenging cultural
enterprises.
Broadway and London productions limited their backer roster to the
inside core of the theatre community, and only the "big rollers"
ever got the chance to "own a piece of the play."
Wilson decided he would provide a "stage door" that would
open to everyone; to select a specific play headed for Broadway
or the West End (London) or a national tour, and let them be a backer. Then
they get inside the process, witness first had the angst, the joy
and the thrill of opening night, as well as share in the economic
results of an enormous industry.
The result of Wilson's dream is ......ArtsBacker.
