Theatrical gross in the United States alone has increased almost 300%
in the last two decades. The growth curve continues. In 2007, over
24,000,000 people attended Broadway and road company productions. Broadway
plays alone are grossing over $730 million per year. Productions in
London and touring companies raise the annual total in the United States
and England to well over $2 billion.
ArtsBacker has created a mechanism for a public partnership with Broadway by providing a "stage door" that will open to
everyone; to select a specific play headed for Broadway or the West
End or a national tour, and offer millions of smaller investors the
opportunity to become a backer. Units (shares) in these productions
will be registered securities with the SEC, affording greater transparency
for the investment. And due to the wonders of the internet, smaller
investors will be allowed inside the process, to witness first hand
the angst, the joy and the thrill of opening night, as well as share
in the economic results of a large and growing industry.
Through ArtsBacker, you'll attend full dress rehearsals. You'll go
backstage for the traditional Cast Party. And you'll get the rewarding,
royal, Red Carpet Treatment.
How to Be an ArtsBacker
First, take the "How It
Works" Tour. which then leads you to the "Decision
Tour".
(both are mentioned above)
That will then lead you to the simple registration and login in the "Production
Documents and User Login" section. Then you'll have access
to all the productions and their full descriptions that are currently
available for investment. When you see a production opportunity that's
too good to pass up, click on "Next Steps" to invest $2500,
$5000 or more with a credit card or electronic check transaction.
It's that simple.
Once you've invested, you'll have your own special Green Room for
ongoing production news, scripts, videos, photos, and chats with the
stars, director, playwright and additional guest celebrities.
